This pulsar spins at a rate of seven spins per second and with every spin, it ejects material that was released after the explosion of the star.

These particles, when interacting with magnetic fields  around the material, result in the glow with X-rays, resulting in a cloud that resembles that of an open hand.

Scientists are still trying to understand whether it’s the pulsar particles interacting with the material in a certain way to create the shape of the hand or if the material itself is shaped like a hand.

According to NASA, when the NuSTAR space X-ray telescope captured the image, the hand appears to have shrunk and it looks more like a fist.
