— Police have identified the cashier who was killed after investigators say she asked a customer to wear a mask inside the store.
“Our hearts and prayers go out to the Willis family, the injured sheriff’s deputy and everyone impacted by yesterday’s senseless incident,†DeKalb County police said in a statement.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation said the cashier told the 30-year-old to put on a mask and that’s when the chaos unfolded.
The GBI said two DeKalb County police officers arrested Tucker as he was attempting to crawl out the front door of the store.
He said he hired an off-duty deputy to help enforce the mask policy at the store.
