Hardy Krüger, who starred in films including A Bridge Too Far, has died at the age of 93.

In 1962, Krüger starred in the Oscar-winning film Sundays and Cybele, before going on to appear in the original The Flight of the Phoenix in 1965.

The 1970s saw the actor continuing his incredible career with films including Stanley Kubrick’s Barry Lyndon, Richard Attenborough’s A Bridge Too Far, in which he shared a scene with Laurence Olivier, and The Wild Geese with Richard Burton.

He was then married to painter Francesca Marazzi between 1964 and 1977, welcoming their children Malaika Krüger and Hardy Krüger Jr.
