Australian Suzanne Cotter will become the Museum of Contemporary Art’s first new director in two decades when she replaces the departing Liz Ann Macgregor next year.
Cotter, a respected peer of Macgregor, is currently the director of the Musée d’Art Moderne Grand-Duc Jean (MUDAM) in Luxembourg.

Cotter said in a recent interview with Macgregor for an online series entitled Director to Director that the year was spent “scenario thinkingâ€.
“In the wake of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, and in response to the growing force of environmental and social justice movements globally, the museum has a vital role to play for the diverse communities that it serves and in which they can recognise themselves and their world,†Cotter said.
