His comments came as Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk announced another day of no new COVID cases and urged Queenslanders to get vaccinated as she once more faced questions about when the state's borders would reopen.

Mr Crisafulli was speaking in the Indigenous community of Yarrabah, near Cairns, where he said the COVID-19 vaccination rate was "not good enough" and more must be done to publish data on vaccination rates.

Ms Palaszczuk said the state government was aware of the low vaccination rates for Indigenous people.

But for that to happen, we need to make sure that people are vaccinated.".

The Premier said while she understood tourism operators were doing it tough, an outbreak of the Delta variant of COVID-19 would be "catastrophic" to the Queensland economy.

"We look forward to the day when all of Australia can open up and people can be reunited but for that to happen we need to make sure that people are vaccinated, that every eligible Australian can be offered that vaccine."

"The most important thing business can do is to be out there saying, 'let's get vaccinated', because the more people who are vaccinated, the more likely we can remove those last remaining restrictions," Dr Young said

"I'm so grateful to all of our health staff, they've been working very, very long hours to make sure that when people come forward, they get vaccinated so they do their absolute best and never turn anyone away."
