US viewers of the Australian version of Married at First Sight have slammed the show for having too many bogans and not enough racial diversity.

As the Aussie version premiered on US screens for the first time, viewers took to social media to complain about its failure to represent a multicultural society.

Unlike the Australian version, all marriages on the US show are legally binding and the matched couples are based in the same city.

But as trailers aired in the US, even stars from the American version took to social media to condemn the format and call it out as “fake”.

“I heard the Australian version is bonkers,” added AJ’s MAFS wife Jamie.
