Christopher Nkunku on the cusp of completing his €60m move to Chelsea

The RB Leipzig striker was recently forced to withdraw from France’s World Cup squad through injury.

Christopher Nkunku is set to become the latest arrival as new owner Todd Boehly continues an expensive overhaul of the Chelsea (opens in new tab) squad.

According to Fabrizio Romano (opens in new tab), the RB Leipzig (opens in new tab) striker is on the verge of completing a €60million move to Stamford Bridge after personal terms were agreed.

Nkunku progressed through the Paris Saint-Germain (opens in new tab) academy to make his debut for the first team against Shakhtar Donetsk (opens in new tab) in the Champions League in December 2015.

With a wealth of attacking options to call on, including Kylian Mbappe, Edinson Cavani, Neymar, Angel Di Maria and Mauro Icardi, he let Nkunku join Leipzig for just €15million.

Despite the disruption of Jesse Marsch being sacked midway through the season, his replacement, Domenico Tedesco, led Leipzig to success in the DFB-Pokal, the first major trophy in the club’s history.
