Booster jab invitations to be sent to 1.5million people in England this week - Telegraph.co.uk

Those eligible for boosters include anyone aged over 50, care home residents and workers, and frontline health and social care workers.

Those eligible for boosters include anyone aged 50 and over, people living and working in care homes for the elderly, and frontline health and social care workers.

In guidance issued on Tuesday, the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI) said people should receive their booster dose at least six months after they received their second coronavirus jab.

Health and Social Care Secretary Sajid Javid said boosters will "strengthen the wall of defence" created by the vaccines.

NHS England said local health teams will prioritise care home residents and staff who are eligible and offer a booster jab by the beginning of November.
