Liverpool analysis - Thiago shows new side as Adama Traore transfer issue emerges - Liverpool Echo

Liverpool talking points from Ian Doyle after 1-0 win away to Wolves in the Premier League.

The Spaniard has become a key performer in the Liverpool engine room, dictating play with his range of passing and ability to put his foot on the ball when required.

Thiago’s tenacity helped Liverpool win the required arm wrestle in the opening quarter before his quality in possession began to hurt Wolves.

His Liverpool players, though, weren’t quite so keen on the powerful Wolves forward here.

First, for all his threat, Traore doesn’t have a regular end product, a return of three goals and three assists since the start of last season perhaps explaining why Liverpool, at least for now, have never truly chased his signature.

His attacking qualities were again on display – no player produced more key passes – but what truly encouraged was his defensive resilience on the rare occasions Wolves sniffed an opportunity.

The Liverpool forward turned 25 as he made his second visit to Molineux in bullish mood following the tremendous strike to cap the Reds' Goodison derby romp in midweek.
