Infections in one area of an Essex town have risen a whopping 650 per cent in just seven days, according to the latest data.
According to the most recent hyper-local government data, Southend Central in Southend-on-Sea, Essex has recorded an infection rate of 128.2 cases per 100,000 residents.
The second-most infected area is Abbey Fields in Colchester, whose infection rate of 127.1 cases per 100,000 cases is a 400 per cent rise compared to seven days prior.
The third-most infected area is Burnham-on-Crouch in the district of Maldon, Essex, which has an infection rate of 113.1 cases per 100,000 residents.
