Brave breast cancer survivor Jo Terrell has shared an insight into her cancer journey in the hopes other women will get themselves checked by a doctor if they find a lump or bump.

A Plymouth woman who was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of just 27 is urging women to check their breasts, armpits and collarbones and get anything untoward looked at by a GP.

Joanna ‘Jo’ Terrell, now 33, found a lump “the size of a Malteser” on her breast at Christmas in 2015 and acted on it straight away leading to a diagnosis of Grade 2 breast cancer in February 2016.

Now, Jo is urging every woman to check their breasts, no matter their age, health record or family history of cancer.

Jo would like to remind women that they should be checking everywhere around the breast as well as the neck, collarbone and armpits.

They sent her to Derriford Hospital and soon had a diagnosis for breast cancer.
