The release of the Ana de Armas-starring biopic Blonde, which will be centered around the life of Marilyn Monroe, has been pushed back to 2022.

The news about the Netflix movie's delay was first reported by Variety, which noted that the upcoming feature was not given a set release date.

Taking the reins: The 33-year-old actress will portray a fictionalized version of the entertainment industry figure; Monroe is pictured in 1953.

Work on the project initially commenced in 2010 when director Andrew Dominik announced that he was planning on working on a biopic centered on the actress.

A set release date for Blonde has not been revealed as of yet.
