Bassnectar Is 'Stepping Back' From Music Career After Allegations of Sexual Misconduct - Billboard

The DJ and artist, whose real name is Lorin Ashton, shared the news after allegations of sexual misconduct surfaced in a Your EDM story as well as on Instagram, where an account has been collecting allegations.

"I am stepping back from my career and I am stepping down from my position of power and privilege in this community because I want to take responsibility and accountability," Ashton began in his statement, which he shared on social media.

Also stepping back from Be Interactive after allegations against Bassnectar surfaced is Lia Holland, the executive director

"As a survivor of childhood abuse, I stand with female survivors and will resign as the executive director of Be Interactive," she tweeted on Independence Day

Musician Mimi Page, who has collaborated with Bassnectar, also shared her support for one of the women after the allegations against Ashton came to light

"As a female collaborator of @bassnectar I am devastated," Page tweeted on July 4
