In just the last few years, several Brazos Valley School Districts have avoided a similar fate.Hearne ISD faced the most danger of a takeover in recent years.Beginning in 2015, “improvement required” scores began rolling in and after a failed accountability report, there was an attempted takeover by the TEA.The district began focusing on student preparedness from elementary school and improving state test scores.When reports came back in 2019 after two years of breaks due to COVID-19, Hearne ISD received a “D” score, but more improvement was needed.Snook ISD was put on probation by the TEA after failing scores back in 2015 and had its accreditation revoked.
