– From school to restaurant to work to home, Onondaga County officials today laid out a case study of one coronavirus infection that eventually spread to at least 55 people, in part because some of the victims went to work sick.

The county today reported only 28 new cases of coronavirus since Sunday.

Indu Gupta, said that they remain concerned that significant numbers of people are going to work sick, causing the virus to spread.

Gupta and McMahon provided no specifics on who was at fault, but they said it was clear that at least some of the people involved went to work while they were sick.

A man in his 60s became the latest county resident to die of Covid-19, McMahon said today.

Of the 28 new cases announced today, 21 resulted from community spread outside of households, McMahon said; five occurred in households with a previous infection; and two were blamed on travel (from Pennsylvania and Alabama).
