Days of Play Event Returns with New Challenges and Rewards - Push Square

Sony is once again bringing back its Days of Play community event for 2021, rewarding those who take part with many PlayStation 4 themes and exclusive avatars.

Split across three stages, you'll need to play lots of PS5 and PS4 games (not too difficult) and then earn Trophies (again, not difficult for us lot).

For stage one, the community must play 2.4 million games and unlock 7.2 million Trophies.

Doing so will reward a PS4 theme, but reach the first stretch goal of 3 million games played and 8.8 million Trophies unlocked and you'll be given three bonus PSN avatars.

Stage two then tasks everyone with playing 2.9 million games and earning 8.5 million Trophies, which unlocks a further five PSN avatars themed around iconic PlayStation characters?

Finally, stage three requires three million games to be played and nine million Trophies to be earned.

However, play 3.7 million games and earn 11 million Trophies and three more PSN avatars will be yours to keep.

Sony will also celebrate the community event with a Days of Play PS Store sale later this month.

PS5 - The Future of Gaming took place during Days of Play 2020, etc.

@FatalBubbles then it's not worth it for me and I lost loads of cool themes that I had on the PS4 many only available with special editions of games.

@RunGMhx I believe Sony has said that they won't be doing custom themes on PS5.

I liked themes but I like having a PS5 more and I’ll always take more avatars

@Xenomorph_79 definitely think it will be an option to have custom themes in a future firmware update

@Rob_230 I really hope so as I would like to use the themes that I actually paid for with special/collectors editions instead of loosing them forever

As Sony have said that they are not doing custom themes on PS5 I'm not sure they will be changing their minds

@Xenomorph_79 Pretty sure VP of Platform Planning, Hideaki Nishino, mentions in some interview that they'd like to implement more customization options like themes
