Elton John revealed he was overcome by emotion after seeing a moving performance of his song Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me on America's Got Talent.

The 73-year-old rock legend tweeted Sunday that he was 'moved to tears' by Archie Williams' performance of the song.

Just before the performance, Williams revealed that he had been wrongfully imprisoned for 36 years and was only released after DNA evidence cleared his name.

Soul stirring: Elton John tweeted Tuesday that he was 'moved to tears' after seeing a performance of his song Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me by wrongfully convicted singer Archie Williams on America's Got Talent; shown in May 2019.

He quoted another tweet from the AGT account featuring Williams' full performance of Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me, which was a top 10 hit for John when it appeared on his 1974 album Caribou.
