James Corden and Reggie Watts, the bandleader on the comedian's late-night show, are opening up about race.

In an emotional segment of "The Late Late Show With James Corden" Monday, Corden and Watts discussed racism in the U.S., with the musician breaking down in tears as he recalled his experiences growing up black in the Midwest.

The segment opened with Corden discussing George Floyd, a black man in Minneapolis who died in the custody of police.

"I've been struggling all weekend wondering what to say to you tonight, because who needs my opinion?" Corden, 41, said in the video.

There is not one person in the world who woke up this morning and thought, 'I need to know what James Corden thinks about all of this.' ".
