More than a decade after she left the spotlight after giving birth to her first child, 29-year-old Jamie Lynn Spears is ready for a return and a look back at that confusing time in her life.

Speaking to Nylon magazine about the recently announced reboot of her teen star vehicle Zoey 101 and that time she resisted her manager's suggestion she try out for Twilight, the singer described her now 12-year-old daughter recently meeting the Zoey cast for the first time.

On Thursday (Oct. 22), Spears will release a new version of the show's theme song, "Follow Me (Zoey 101)," which comes along with the recent cast reunion and the reveal of a reboot of the show.

Mother Lynn Spears said her youngest came into the world "unexpectedly, yet so adored by all the moment she arrived," describing how Jamie Lynn said yes to everything social as a kid, from basketball to softball, cheerleading and gymnastics.

The popular show ran from 2005 to 2008, as Spears was going through all the insecurities and struggles of puberty that everyone does at that age, only in the public eye, with paparazzi everywhere. â€œI just remember being really, really self-conscious about a lot of things during that time,” she told Nylon.

“Still, I always say I wish I was as confident as I was at that moment in my life.” When the show went dark in 2008, Spears said she chose to disappear from the public eye for five years.

By the time the decision was made, Spears was back in Louisiana trying to plot her next career move when she found out she was expecting a child with her high-school boyfriend, whom she split with two years later. â€œYou have your first love, or what you call love in high school.

She released the 2014 EP Journey and had a second child with her husband of six years, Jamie Watson, and is now working on the Zoey reboot and waiting to film her parts in the second season of Netflix's Sweet Magnolias.
