While there’s a lull in the nor’easter early Tuesday afternoon in New Jersey, we’re not quite finished with a storm that will end up dumping as much as 6 inches of rain on parts of the state by the time it wraps up Wednesday morning.

“What will happen is we’ll start to see some of the rain kind of fill in across the rest of the state,” said Sean Rowland, a senior meteorologist with WeatherWorks, a private weather forecasting company based in Hackettstown.

“Most of it will be concentrated in North Jersey, but other parts of the state will seem some rain late in the day and then tonight as well.”.

Rowland said rain should start falling again in the late afternoon in the northern half of the state.

In the southern half of the state, expect late afternoon showers with some rain then falling this evening and into tonight, according to the meteorologist.

Winds will also pick up tonight as many parts of the state will experience 30 to 40 mph wind gusts, Rowland said.
