New NBA 2K22 Features Revealed, But Not All Of Them Are Included On Switch - Nintendo Life

Last week, it was revealed that NBA 2K22 will be heading to Switch this September, bringing 2K's basketball series to Nintendo's system for another year.

New features for the upcoming release have now been detailed, with the Switch edition of the game being described as a 'previous-generation' version – as you might expect, this means the game won't be quite the same across all platforms.

A full feature reveal has been shared in 2K's 'Courtside Report', with one of the standout sections concerning the various game modes that'll be on offer.

As you can see from the list below, the all-new City, MyCAREER and MyNBA & MyWNBA modes are sadly restricted to the 'new-generation' version of the game, which is launching on PS5 and Xbox Series consoles.

New Neighborhood – On PlayStation®4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC platforms, players will compete in an all-new Neighborhood built on the spacious decks of a sailing cruise ship;.

MyCAREER – The all-new City* and MyCAREER become one in a ground-breaking narrative experience on PlayStation®5 and Xbox Series X|S consoles;.

*PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X|S required to play the new-generation version of NBA 2K22.

We'll be able to see for ourselves when the game launches on 10th September.

At least 2K considers the Switch to be on par with PS4 and Xbox One generation-wise, unlike certain devs.

@GrailUK Switch Pro won't launch us into next gen but will improve some of the games that are running poorly.

I’m not even a sports or sports game fans so all this is about as important to me as being told they’re changing the scent of the hand soap in toilets down at the pub

This does however make me harken back to the days when many developers and publishers developed sports games for different platforms; carving out their little niches

Who jinxed 2K during their EA laments?😆 Then again, despite the awkward phrasing implicitly excluding Switch from the very "new generation" it started, this doesn't look like a FIFA situation, what with new content and all

Just like with FIFA (where my potential peripheral itches can be easily quenched by the FIFA 14 Vita card in my possession), these franchises are a low priority for me in general, and certainly not annual investment incentives

Doubt anyone is surprised by this, and the fact the switch version will likely be the most expensive option as well

60 bucks for half the game still seems like you pay more then 70 bucks for the full game

you don't get 2k on a switch, or any sports sim game for that matter.(pga tour 2k21 on switch literally had to remove the fans in the stands to make the game work on switch smh

do yourself a favor, and just stick to Nintendo games

Switch version will cost the same as PS4 and Xbox One versions
