Ever since Obi-Wan Kenobi revealed its trick card by focusing on Leia, Star Wars fans have wondered how in the galaxy that fits with the canon.

We are, of course, talking about Leia's message to Obi-Wan in A New Hope which she starts by saying, "General Kenobi, years ago you served my father in the Clone Wars".

The message suggested that Leia had no personal connection to Obi-Wan, but we now know that to not be true as they've gone through six episodes of adventure together.

The final episode of Obi-Wan Kenobi is largely split between two conflicts: Obi-Wan versus Vader and Reva's pursuit of Luke on Tatooine.

Now onto Leia and why she pretends not to know Obi-Wan when she sends the message in A New Hope.

Their exchange also ends with Leia calling Obi-Wan by his actual name, rather than Ben as she said throughout the season to date, wrapping up how she knew he was Obi-Wan at the end of her A New Hope message.

After catching up with Leia, Obi-Wan heads back to Tatooine (racking up the space miles in this episode) to tell Owen that he now knows it's best for Luke that he be left alone.

The final episode of Obi-Wan Kenobi puts a bow on everything you might have been concerned about canon-wise, so if it ends here, at least there's nothing that Star Wars fans have to speculate about

Then again, the surprise appearance of Qui-Gon Jinn teasing that Obi-Wan has "a ways to go" in the final shot of the episode could mean Obi-Wan will be back in the future..
