One of New Jersey's largest healthcare providers fired more than 100 employees who refused to get a COVID-19 vaccine, after already firing six supervisory-level employees for the same thing in June. .

RWJBarnabas Health in New Jersey on Monday fired the 118 employees - 62 of them who were part-time workers - after they refused to get the COVID-19 vaccine by the October 15 deadline. .

'Regrettably, and despite all best efforts, 118 staff members have not complied with the mandate and are no longer employees of RWJBarnabas Health, per our vaccine mandate policy,' a spokeswoman told NJ.com.

Earlier this year, the company fired six of their supervisory-level employees after they failed to meet their June 30 deadline before it expanded its mandate to 'all staff and physicians.'

They have reported that the departure of their 118 employees and the six superior-level staff they fired in June for the same reason will not affect their ability to care for patients

All pre-K through 12th-grade teachers and staff and state employees are now required to be fully vaccinated or participate in one to two weekly COVID-19 tests, according to ABC 6.
