Pac-Man World: Re-Pac's frame rate will run "up to 30fps" on Switch, both handheld and docked!
Lastly, you won't need to make a ton of room for the remake on Switch, as Re-Pac will require "about 3.6GB", according to Bandai Namco's website. You can check out some more details on Pac-Man World: Re-Pac over on the Japanese website right here, or if you want to see how the upcoming remake stacks up to the original 1999 release, check out our article below.Pac-Man World: Re-Pac launches on 26th August on Switch., and we're excited to relive yet another part of our platforming childhood. It could easily run at solid 60fps, not even reaching a solid 30fps it really means they don't care at all...
@C-Olimar while I think 60fps should be possible. Why on earth is it so hard for these developers to get platform games running at 60fps on Switch when Mario Odyssey managed it FOUR YEARS AGO and is way more detailed/bigger worlds than the likes of Sonic Colors, Spyro, Crash Bandicoot or Pac-Man World. Most of these are remakes of extremely linear PS1 games and being a multiformat game isn't an excuse, sorry, but it's not!
@Rayquaza2510 I'm happy with 30FPS tbh.Cut the resolution if it means smooth 30fps or even 60fps.I’m not too surprised by this since most switch games run at 30fps.And you know what I played games at 10 fps on N64 so I’m a real gamer and don’t care.
Whenever you moved Klonoa from left to right, the background and foreground would stutter like crazy....It ran like crap compared to the Wii remaster which hit a stable 60fps and ran buttery smooth.
But being lazy on better hardware would have gotten us to 60fps.
its just the unity engine again they've been using the unity engine for almost all the remakes so far Even with klonoa.
You underestimate the terrible performance games by lazy developers can have on powerful hardware. At this point, if you're playing modern games on Switch (and, like it or not, this remake graphically constitutes a modern game), you know performance won't be butter smooth.Yet A good portion of Nintendo first party games are sub 60 and the hardware isn’t strong enough for most developers to get their games to run at 60
And I’m not even talking about major graphic intensive games
It’s extremely rare to find a 1080p 60fps
Most would agree that opting for 720p just to get a stable 60fps is the way to fly instead 1080p + 'up to 30fps' Frame rate is far more important to me than resolution
It's just mind boggling, that a game that looks as mediocre as this in the visual department can't even hit 60You can even get away with several titles that utlize modern pixel based graphics like Huntdown, Kitana Zero, Wild Arms Reloaded, just to name a few that i'm assuming look and run indentical on PC & PS5
If not, just get the the more visually demanding titles that run at higher resolutions, frame rates and whatever else on the following aboveAnother reason to also have a PC, PS5 or Series X instead of being exclusive to just Nintendo
It does very much feel like preparation for more powerful Switch hardware"up to 30fps" on the current Switch could mean stable 60fps on the more powerful Switch
I'm usually fine with a stable 30 its just when it drops below it that I find things get noticeably stutter'y, in cases like with this and klonoa i would be cool with a "performance mode" option with lower resolution and more stable framerate
Kirby and the Forgotten Land was 30 FPS, and that ran just fine
