Otto should get some or all of the 6M MLE since he was a top 6 player by value when playing for the team.

If he gets a better offer than that elsewhere oh well.

JTA, Lee, and Belli will all be more vet min guys so the team can return any it wants.

I didnt love Belli, all though he was good when right, so I could see them grabbing a ring chasing stretch big if one better than him wants to come.

GPII was a top 5 player on the team by rate stat so even though he will be pricy the team has his early bird and can give him about 12M and would be crazy not to.

I would say they have 2 maybe 3 spots to fill on the 15, and will be looking at ring chaser for those while bringing back the rest besides Belli or one of the others another team wildly overpays.

Trading this first for a future first lets them keep the draft capital for a later trade while saving money since a second rounder or undrafted player only make 800k instead of the slot for 28th.

You can trade a first for any returning asset including old draft rights to a player like teams collect, but I think you have to send something back and can only buy seconds.

Kinda makes me wonder had they moved up 1 pick to draft Wagner last year over Mitchell, kept Haliburton, trade Fox last year and maybe draft Ivey, you’d have Haliburton, Wagner, and Ivey!

Wagner was rated well pre-draft and purists love Haliburton as a complimentary 2 guard.

With Haliburton gone, I felt Fox value worsened as his play didn’t improve.

Trading players with long term affordable team control, who while not having an insane ceiling, fits with almost everyone for a win now player who only has to play in Sac for 2 more seasons maybe isnt what a lottery team for the last 15 years should do.

Look at the stats, maybe the game logs… Fox got better when Hali left.

He would not have brought as much in trade as a max player should.

Last year would’ve made sense to cut bait, with Haliburton assuming his role.

Once SAC finally got rid of Halliburton Fox did play much better, as a matter of fact he played as well as last year when he earned his max contract

The point is that Fox is a star in the league, Halliburton not yet, maybe never & after all you swap him for a much better player in Sabonis, Halliburton will never be as good as Sabonis, that’s for sure
