Phil Spencer Reacts To This Week's Xbox Game Pass 'Shadow Drop' - Pure Xbox

Head of Xbox Phil Spencer has now commented on this, giving "all" the credit to developer Tango Gameworks, while highlighting that Xbox Game Pass makes the decision easy to release a game as a "shadow drop".

"All credit goes to Tango Gameworks, they had an idea to build something new.

Shadow drop was from Bethesda, it's fun to have some positive surprises, Xbox Game Pass makes the shadow drop easy, it won't be right for all games but awesome reaction to Hi-Fi Rush."

We're hoping Microsoft might have a few other surprises like this in store for the future, as it was definitely our highlight of January's Xbox Developer Direct — although we also particularly enjoyed the Redfall and Forza Motorsport segments!
