Pokémon Legends: Arceus Is Already Being Streamed Online, And It's Not Even Out Yet - Nintendo Life

Pokémon Legends: Arceus has already been leaked and datamined this week, and now it appears entire playthroughs of the game are being streamed on Twitch and uploaded to YouTube.

As highlighted by My Nintendo News, these channels are likely running ROM versions via emulation after some trainers were able to obtain physical copies early and dump the game files on the internet.

"It seems as though a few people who received the game early have uploaded the game to illegal ROM sites, which means that Pokemon Legends: Arceus is now playable via an emulator.

Some of those who have downloaded the ROMs have been freely live streaming the game on Twitch and as I type there are people online playing through it and streaming the full game to a small number of viewers.".

There's even more information and footage of the game popping up on platforms like Reddit and Twitter.

Unfortunately, this isn't the first thing we've seen something like this - the same thing happened last November to the Pokémon Diamond and Pearl remakes.

Nintendo will go out of there way to copyright a adult 3d bowser's model, but not stuff like this.

Normally I would hate this, but its too funny seeing people having the guts to stream it, and imagining Game Freak having to accept the outcome.

Anyways, they really should find a way to prevent people from playing the game until the release date.

I watched just enough to know I'll take a chance on the game when it comes out, because the marketing was too poor to help me make my decision.

Guess you won't be playing your games for hours to weeks then depending on the circumstances...

anyway, they bought it at the store, checked it out and everything, so its not like they didn't pay for it, its more or less the stores fault for selling it to them.

@Snatcher There are some people who work for the store and rig the game so they get it early, either with the help of another employee or by stealing it!

However, the normal people getting the game either got it through dumps, or they got their copy in the mail early/a store accidentally sold it to them early.

@VoidofLight Thats actually messed up, I know you want a game early, and thats cool and everything, but going so far as to rig it for your need.

Look the people who are playing the game are not to blame.

It is on retailers who sold the game early.

Or Nintendo can take measures to ensure that physical copies reach stores closer to the release date rather than a few weeks early.

I like to know what I’m getting into so that I’ll know what kind of team I would like to build.

Leak culture has gotten out of hand, sometimes it’s just better not to know.

It feels like you can’t jump into any form of entertainment these days without knowing anything.

Piracy is one thing, but for people to profit off this is off the scale!

I don't like this happening but I am also not going to watch them, wait for real reviews from respected Youtubers.

Its pretty much out already like most nintendo games.

@DiamondJim If its like almost every single Nintendo published Switch game in the past then expect reviews a day or two prior to release!

NL has no doubt got it and playing it but they most likely can't say that to us.

It's also likely the reason why Nintendo is so anal about mods and fan-made games.

So, the next time Nintendo shuts down a Smash mod or a fan-made game and people slam them as tight fisted control freaks who are behind the times, why don't you think the jackasses who are leaking and streaming games before their release date.

I would not be shocked if stuff like this is why Nintendo is harsh towards any use of their IPs they don't approve of.

People acting like if they got the game early they would sit waiting for days for a release date to arrive before they started playing.

Maybe if the publisher promoted the game more and showed more actual gameplay, people would stop blaming gamers for showing the game.

People got their hands on copies because they either worked at a store, or knew someone who did.

Watch people defend this too..

Nintendo should definitely go after these guys - or, in specific, after the stores that sold the games this early.

@kaffepapu What I didn’t know was that you can fight a party of two wild Pokémon at once - I though that could be a plant but it’s clear from the order of play that’s not the case which looks to happen on the above screenshot, and which is a huge spoiler I really didn’t want to find of before actually ‘playing’ the game
