PS5 Consoles Are with Media and Influencers Right Now - Push Square

Places like Polygon, GamesRadar, Washington Post, and more have teased fans on Twitter:.

We've seen some folks posting pics of themselves with a DualSense PS5 controller — footballer Robert Lewandowski posed with the pad on Instagram — but it now looks like the Japanese giant is beginning to get the console out to more relevant places and people.

It seems it's only a matter of time before certain outlets will be sharing their thoughts on the PS5!

It's about time, too — the console launches in just a few weeks!

Use your own mind kids and don't be 'influenced' by those that steal a living.

I don't understand the influencer culture?

The demand just seems so high I don't really see the point?

People are cancelling their orders and it's allowing a few people a day to order.

One to the folks at Digital Foundry please.

@Woogy I'm no fan of influencers and agree people need to think for themselves, but "steal a living" is a bit much.

But I'm still getting one anyway.

Hell yes, Digital Foundry are a must for this.

@Woogy Would you count pushsquare as influncers?Since we even have reviews here, that could as easily influence this so called 'kids',more than what ever a person like Linus, could do.

Does it grate with anyone else that these "influencers" get sent them for free, while some long-time fans can't buy the thing for love nor money.

They're getting a bit biased imo.

Influencers just have a large social media base and get their money by promoting ads and sucking the D by asking for subs, patreons, views on youtube, and pushing that god awful raid shadow legends on you.

Like really.

Speaking of Influencers, I just read some story about streamers should be charged for the games they broadcast!

I'm quite surprised because I thought they were paying all along, didn't think it was free.

Then it's us the publishers have to force microtransactions on after paying full price for games, how ridiculous?

@Dan_ozzzy189 I don't see any bias in their coverage.

@Medic_Alert I think their analysis of dirt 5 was a bit off, hopefully they will get a ps5 soon enough.

I think that game running at 1440p 60fps and still having dips in a few places is actually pretty shocking but I don't claim bias because I generally credit them with being pretty even handed?

Not gonna lie, knowing that "influencers" get the PS5 for free while many of us won't be able to afford one anytime soon made me quite salty...

@TheArt that was about them being charged to broadcast the games.

Ripping music is completely different to broadcasting gameplay because by watching a stream of a game the audience isn't getting to actually play anything.

It's free marketing basically, so no, people shouldn't be charged to broadcast gameplay, what an awful, awful idea.

If you charge people to stream them, they won't, and your hit becomes a miss.

Digital Foundry better get one or Sony is worried.

@Snick27 Not really sure what you mean since DF getting one or not, giving glowing reviews or not, will not have any impact on the sold out launch pre-orders (or wave-2).

That being said, I would love to watch a DF video on the hardware, I just don't think it actually matters in the short term, and long term doesn't really matter if they get a pre-launch machine or not.

Come on, Digital Foundry.

@Snick27 I would not be suprised one bit if they don't get one.

@Clemerek How about the popstars getting free clothes and shoes, phones and all other free stuff thats a bigger issue for me?

It's a human trait.

I look forward to seeing the previews, I managed to get a ps5 digital but whether or not I actually RECEIVE it on launch day is a completely different story.

I will more than likely get the Series S first, but that's just a Games Pass console.

@Marquez Digital foundry.

The same digital foundry that lives inside Microsoft's pocket?

The same digital foundry that and gives a 300X zoom on PS4 pro games to compare with Xbox one X?

@JJ2 I don't think anyone was offended and I'm not talking about natural human bias.

Of course people can't be completely impartial, in fact in many cases being impartial is a disadvantage - Push Square is a fan site run by fans and I don't expect impartiality but I think people should be a little less quick to call out writers in the way they do.

The free PS5 comments are relevant here.

I would like to see someone confirm that the HDMI included is a 2.1 cable.

Wait aren't these review units like what Xbox did.

The comments here Make it seem like they all got free PS5s which they can then sell on ebay for 5 times the amount or throw them in the ocean if they choose to.

Rent free, seriously.

I'm excited, though seeing tweets like this just reminds me how fleeting the hype is.

Not too long ago, people were getting all jealous like this when the first PS4 units were going out, and now it's a relatively mundane thing that you can buy (for reasonably cheap) whenever you want?

If it's a short enough cable in the box, it could be a cable made in 2008 and still carry HDMI 2.1 perfectly fine

It's when you start geting to 12, 15, 20+ foot runs you start running into more issues and cable spec starts mattering more

And we treat people like this now, too

Until Digital Foundry get one I couldn't give two squirts of p1ss..

I just dont think it's a good idea to generalise

No you cant say DF is this or that, I think they are doing some great stuff, but the sum of the articles and videos from the next gen reveal are leaning towards one side

@JJ2 I don't think it has helped that EG's parent company makes it's money from holding events of which none has happened this year

And I am not saying they are under any pressure to generate clicks but being in a corporate enviroment like that myself in the past I can see how they may be "encouraged" to get the money in by any means

Firstly they have actually had some access to the Xbox Series X and they like it - as do most people who have had hands on it

Very few, if any, games will be able to do that

You are entitled to feel their coverage has gone to one side or the other but I just don't see it at all

They used to do close ups just to see little details like memory and such

The SSD is like the jewel of the PS5 right

It deserved a bit more like look closely on each side at least

I don't think it is worth a thing

They have an XSeX they aren't allowed to tear down yet, and they have only BC games to benchmark

They don't have (or haven't had) a PS5, and all they had to go on was the public information about the drive, and the public video footage of the chips soldered to the board

It's the silicon of the controller itself that makes Sony's design unique, not the orientation of the NAND on the board
