Random: Niantic Got Rian Johnson To Direct A Pokémon GO Commercial - Nintendo Life

Niantic's augmented reality mobile game Pokémon GO has just turned four years old.

To celebrate in style, it's teamed up with the Star Wars: The Last Jedi and Knives Out director, Rian Johnson, to produce a special commercial for Pokémon GO Fest 2020 (taking place on 25th - 26th July).

This isn't the first time Johnson has made Pokémon GO headlines.

Last December, he used the game to call out angry Star Wars fans who didn't like The Last Jedi.

When he’s not paying off a loan to Tom Nook, Liam likes to report on the latest Nintendo news and admire his library of video games.

His favourite Nintendo character used to be a guitar-playing dog, but nowadays he prefers to hang out with Judd the cat.
