Rumour: Is Horizon Forbidden West DLC on the Verge of Announcement? - Push Square

We thoroughly enjoyed Horizon Forbidden West when it launched back in February.

While it's open to some interpretation, we're inclined to believe this is hinting at DLC for Forbidden West?

Then there's the strange object above it, which looks just like a Focus — the small device Aloy wears on her temple.

Obviously we could be completely off the mark, but DLC for Forbidden West seems most likely to us based on what's shown here.

Would you be up for another excursion with Aloy in Forbidden West.

Having grown up alongside PlayStation, Stephen has developed an eclectic taste in video games and a wide knowledge of the medium, from small indie gems to the biggest AAA blockbusters.

Forbidden West sunk the franchise for many.

Sure the story didn't pack the same punch but pretty much everything else about the game was better than the original!

I wasn't really blown away by Forbidden West either but it was still a fine game I thought.

There are certainly worse games out there.

The end of Forbidden West (final battle and ending) was one of the worst I have seen in a modern AAA game.

To be fair I have not played much AAA games from western developers (only some from Sony) but come on..?

I don't like the generic slapping "to be continued", this is not a trails game.

Recently 100%d the game so it'd be a good time to jump back in before I get any rustier.

@jrt87 The story was pretty bad and its very Ubi open world wise but FW was still a good game with a beautiful world and fantastic enemies to fight, i welcome an expansion.

Looking forward to more HFW, I didn't think the story was bad at all, it certainly wasn't perfect, the bad guys could have been fleshed out more but we knew they were out there from playing the first game, I'd love some DLC and can't wait for the 3rd game.

I thought Aloy was annoying in the game but it was still good.

No arguments there (Sylens offering Aloy to join him, are you kidding me!?) But as a video game, HFW was one of the best games of the year: From the larger map, engaging combat, and a bunch of quality-of-life improvements made this pretty much a classic.

For me there are alot worse games out there with regards to story?

Great looking games, beautiful animation.

Horizon is maybe a bit more interesting than dreary Killzone but I still think it kind of sucks, I dont really like Aloy or any of her friends much.

While there were elements that definitely could have been better I thought it was mostly a really great game.

These games are fine and the graphics amazing but this is the case of an awful story and dull characters just making these games unplayable for some.

@jrt87 the story in the first game was so tragic and raw.

The story in Forbidden West was a bit silly.

The game world and gameplay was excellent but the story really drags it down, so I understand where you’re coming from.

▪︎Boring story and uninteresting new characters like Trinity from The Matrix.

Mystery of the world and fate of "our ancient past" already resolved in the first game so nothing to keep your interest.

▪︎Aloy's character progression from the first game is reset and she's just mopey and uncooperative with her friends ('I have to do this alone!').

▪︎Aloy never shuts up and the game won't even let you figure out its mini puzzle areas without her blurting out the solution within ten seconds.

▪︎Metroidvania elements that just annoy at worst, and emulate Ubisoft map marker safari at best.

These were fine in the first game.

Most are useless and you end up just shooting off parts and then R1 spamming until you get a critical like the first game

(On a good side, the exploration of societies was really neat though)

and it was truly a sight to behold visually, the story was not nearly as good imho as in first game and it did not live up to its expectations

(Note to self: still not finished that game. Need to drag myself back...)

It feels like they have tried to mash mass effect 2 structure into a far cry open world with some of the most earnest yet dull dialogue in any game

I frequently found myself not caring about the politics and dynamics of the post apocalyptic forbidden west society but loving the combat loop and the mechanics of the game

The main story just didn't grab me the same way as the first game and it feels like Sony are expecting this franchise to do more heavy lifting than it can handle with it being part of the PSVR2 launch and a rumoured live service game

Maybe I'll just wait for the review to see if it's worth it, haven't paid the $10 yet for lip-synch GoT upgrade

Frozen Wilds in HZD was really good though, so if it's anything like that, I'm in

Forbidden West wasn’t as great as the first, but it’s the story arc of the trilogy so that’s to be expected

Still a GotY contender from me, but I don’t need back story

We don’t need this, just finish the trilogy
