A push to have a street named after Ryan Reynolds in his hometown of Vancouver, Canada has hit a bump in the road. .

The hosts and producer of The Kevin and Sonia Show With Tara Jean on 104.9 KiSS radio in Vancouver recently launched a petition, declaring the Deadpool actor 'Vancouver's favorite son' who 'deserves to have a street named after him (or at least a lane).' .

Thanks, but no thanks: Ryan Reynolds jokingly rebuffed the push to have a street named after him in his hometown of Vancouver, Canada.

'OMG @VancityReynolds responded to our petition to name a street after him in Vancouver!!!' Lim tweeted.

The radio show behind the petition asked fans and followers whether they should continue to the push for the petition despite Reynolds' polite rejection

Making a difference: In making the case for Reynolds, the people behind the petition cited the charitable contributions Reynolds and his wife Blake Lively have made in the Vancouver area

In making the case for petition, Lim and his cohorts on the radio show revealed Reynolds 'has not only has he captured our hearts on the big screen, his humanitarian efforts have made him a beloved local treasure who encapsulates the best of Vancouverites, and fully deserving of this recognition in his hometown.' 

They even listed some of the charitable contributions Reynolds and his wife Blake Lively have made for his hometown in 2020 alone.
