In a new profile for Variety, the 40-year-old music mogul maintained he offered Swift every opportunity to buy back her masters.
Swift said in November 2020 that Braun requested she sign an NDA that would “silence” her “forever.”
“My legal team said that this is absolutely NOT normal, and they’ve never seen an NDA like this presented unless it was to silence an assault accuser by paying them off,” she said after learning that Braun unloaded her masters to an investment fund 17 months after acquiring them
Braun emphasized the importance of “open communication” to Variety and said all of his and the 31-year-old “My Tears Ricochet” singer’s conversations before the deal “were friendly and kind.”
“I find her to be an incredibly talented artist and wish her nothing but the best,” Braun said
When Braun, who manages pop powerhouses such as Ariana Grande and Justin Bieber, first acquired her masters, Swift said she was “grossed out.“
