The plane quickly lost altitude and dropped huge pieces of the engine casing and chunks of fiberglass onto the neighborhoods below.

Mayday, mayday, aircraft, uh..." the pilot says in a 35-second audio recording obtained by the Denver Post.
"Mayday, aircraft, uh, just experienced engine failure, need a turn immediately.".
The plane landed safely back at the airport and no injuries were reported on the ground where the debris had rained down.The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the incident and has asked Coloradans not to touch debris if they find pieces of the plane in their neighborhoods.
