It's been quite a while since Digital Foundry investigated a Nintendo Switch release, but now John Linneman is back to see how The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD holds up?

The game makes the jump from a 480p output on Wii to 1080p docked and 720p in handheld on the Switch.

Nintendo also managed to maintain the original look of assets while at the same time providing a higher resolution look.

Have you tried out Skyward Sword HD on the Nintendo Switch.

When he’s not paying off a loan to Tom Nook, Liam likes to report on the latest Nintendo news and admire his library of video games.

Good to hear the games aesthetics and QOL improvements aren’t just half baked gloss overs.

tv blares Skyward Sword theme.

I liked Skyward Sword.

Might be one of my fave Zelda games lol.

There will be more open world games that all share a lot but there will never be another game like Skyward Sword.

I wonder what their reasoning was for basically making everyone look like they are wearing makeup.

I like twilight princesses art style way more because the designs are very refined and the line work is much clearer, and that was on the GameCube.

@CheekyZelda I always feel this way after starting a play through of the game.

I've gotten more out of it by looking at fanart and seeing these characters in Skyward sword in slightly different off-model scenarios?

And even though Twilight Princess had a semi-realistic art style, and is older than this game, I believe Twilight Princess does in fact look better than Skyward Sword.

Best story in a Zelda game?

Worst Zelda game to play and look at in my opinion.

I really like this game and I never played it when it was originally released.

Story so far is great and I like the combat after some adjusting and the art direction is cool.

Skyrim came out at the same time and with its openness made linear Zelda look old fashioned

I am not a fan of Skyrim I am a skyward sword fan

For someone like me who just could never play Wii games all waggly, the Pro controller option is worth the price

I'm super impressed with the upgrade Nintendo made, looks like a worthy "HD" remaster

It's too bad Skyward Sword gets so much hate

This was the one Zelda game that really needed an HD makeover

I still have Wind Waker and Twilight Princess on Wii U and I'll egarly buy them again when they're released for Switch, but I'm glad Skyward Sword released first
