Palestinians have publicized the personal information of the incoming chief of the Shin Bet security service, whose personal information remains confidential in Israel.
For security reasons, the incoming Shin Bet chief — who is the current deputy of the domestic security agency and will assume the top job in the coming weeks — can only be identified in Israel by the first Hebrew letter of his name, “Resh,” until he enters office.
The incoming chief served in the Israel Defense Forces’ elite Sayeret Matkal unit, and then entered the ranks of the Shin Bet as a field agent.
