Band’s surprise new album, recorded during Covid-19 and inspired by Beach Boys’ Pet Sounds, is out January 29th.

Weezer have shared their new song “All My Favorite Songs,” the first single off the band’s surprise new album OK Human, out January 29th.

They eventually find themselves in a studio where Weezer is recording “All My Favorite Songs.”.

“All my favorite songs are slow and sad/All my favorite people make me mad,” Cuomo sings while playing piano on the orchestra-buoyed track.

“Everything that feels so good is bad, bad, bad/All my favorite songs are slow and sad/I don’t know what’s wrong with me.”  However, when the teenager tries to converse with Cuomo afterward, the singer is too engrossed with his cell phone screen and the human connection that seemed to be reestablished looks to be lost.

Although OK Human’s title is a nod to Radiohead’s OK Computer, the music on OK Human is more inspired by the Beach Boys’ Pet Sounds: During his Covid-19 quarantine this summer, the ever-prolific Cuomo went to work at his piano on a collection of new songs that he eventually brought to the studio, where he was joined by Weezer and a masked 39-piece orchestra1

A week prior to the premiere of “All My Favorite Songs,” Weezer surreptitiously created a “All My Favorite Songs” playlist on Spotify, featuring songs by Neil Young, Johnny Cash, REO Speedwagon, Toni Braxton, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Celine Dion and Sinead O’Connor.

“All My Favorite Songs”.
