Woman in her 50s is latest Albany County COVID death - Times Union

Albany County officials said Saturday that a woman in her 50s died on Friday, the 386th person to succumb to the virus since the outbreak began here 15 months ago.

There were also five new cases confirmed Friday, bringing the total known to have been infected in the county to 24,398, County Executive Dan McCoy said in a statement Saturday. .

There were no new hospitalizations overnight, and there are three county residents hospitalized from the virus.

“In spite of our continued efforts to get everyone vaccinated, another Albany County woman has lost her life to this virus,” McCoy stated.

“My condolences go out to her family and the families of the other 385 Albany County residents who died from COVID-19.
