Xenoblade Chronicles 3 has been wowing fans across the world since its release just over a week ago, and it sounds like we've got more to look forward to in the years ahead.

Translated by Kim Louise Davis on behalf of Nintendo Everything, Takahashi has provided a little hint as to what Xenoblade Chronicles 3 means for the series going forward.

There are minor overall Xenoblade series spoilers in the snippet below, so just be careful.

This title depicts the conclusion of the Xenoblade story that began with Klaus’s experiment?

While it is a conclusion, that does not mean it is the end of the Xenoblade series?

Essentially, this third mainline game is the end of a story arc for the series, which kicked off with 2010's Xenoblade Chronicles.

This includes Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and the Expansion Pass story, Torna - The Golden Country!

Of course, Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is getting its own Expansion Pass story content sometime next year, so even forgetting about what will happen after this arc, we still have plenty more Xenoblade ahead of us?

Would you like to see more Xenoblade.

Do you also want a Xenoblade Chronicles X port on the Switch next.

Xenoblade Chronicles X port, please.

If Xenoblade, is concluded, then would they want to make a new "Xeno" series.

Or would it just be new stories with the Xenoblade name.

Though I think a Xenogears port would be more likely since Square Enix has been a retro porting machine as of late.

Xenoblade Chronicles Xtreme Beach Volleyball.

Xenoblade X is pretty much the only Wii U game I still want ported.

I’m thinking Xenoblade Chronicles 4.

Xeno X port or even a new game more in line with that game' style, that game's way too good to remain stuck as a Wii U exclusive.

Or just make a new Baten Kaitos, that would work for me as well.

xenoblade x Port please.

This game seems to be its own story with no tie-ins, and it's high time we got back to it?

@Olliemar28 Honestly the only 2 Wii U games I still want on the Switch are:.

Xenoblade Chronicles X.

They can very well still make more Xenoblade games that has next to nothing to do with XB1 - XB3 continuity.

Porting first game and working on sequel seems like a good idea now?

I would love if they just kept making Xenoblade the way they have with each being separate, in a way.

I just hope they don’t make anything too different.

But that doesn't mean it's done.

It's funny how that exact dialogue wouldn't be out of place in any Xenoblade game.

Like it's a game that I want to like but you have gacha, a battle system that's too convoluted for it's own good, a battle system that isn't really fully, fully exploitable until 3/4s of the way through, real time wait mechanics, and a story that's overall a coming of age story but the stakes are so incredibly low.

Like you don't have to play one and 2 for 3 to make sense and there's very little story and character carry over (though what is there is cool) but world building wise, 3 absolutely relies on you caring about the first two!

The main twist even involves the first two in a very intrinsic honestly Chrono Crossy way that again, you'd understand without playing the games, because it's not like that convoluted, but I feel like it'll lose a lot of weight on what it really means.

@mariomaster96 it's what moody does, they come along and ***** all over Xenoblade then report anyone who dares challenge them.

Am I the only Xenoblade fan that doesn't care for the story in the first game.

So I’m all for an X port and X2.

I think I like 3 so much because it's at the heart of it 1s plot again with the team dynamics of 2 combined with, I mean, a lot of xenogears.

Friend dies/revenge/ meet people/ they want revenge/ get more power/ revenge turns out to be unneeded/ bad guys were actually misunderstood/ helpful character was bad all along/ kill him.

It's a pretty by the numbers jrpg story except the villain is technically a twist that only somewhat comes out of nowhere but nowhere near some final fantasy final bosses.

@NDragon1412, In Japan, where this announcement was given, the series isn't even called Xenoblade Chronicles, just Xenoblade, so they probably don't mean it as the end of the "Chronicles" line, since it wasn't called that in Japan in the first place.

From the Japanese developer's point of view, the series is just known as "Xenoblade"

Would love a port of Xenoblade Chronicles X on Switch and maybe they can continue the series with that narrative

Either way I'm looking forward to playing more Xenoblade Chronicles in the future

From what I've seen so far in 3, they're definitely dropping those connections in more evenly, but it's still more a self-contained story than a direct sequel

If they just want to go full on into the alternate universes thing they've been playing with since the first game and make the next one completely disconnected like X is, then that's fine with me

It doesn’t have to be the next big game they make but it should come after that one

@Olliemar28 The one thing about X is that I'd really like them to rework the main story into making any kind of sense, which would be a lot of extra effort

I'd also be happy with a straight port, of course, but considering how it ends on a cliffhanger, it'd be nice if they could make a stronger base to build a sequel off of

I would love an XCX port

You write a whole 100 hour game about how there is no greater evil, no more selfish, shameful, and destructive act then preventing new stories from being told because you want to experience the same things over and over and people respond continuing to demand you remake that decade old game you constantly say you have no interest in remaking
