Brandon Marshall lobbies Jets to take Justin Fields in 2021 NFL Draft - New York Post

Ex-Jets receiver Brandon Marshall said he thinks former Ohio State quarterback Justin Fields is the right piece for his former team.

Marshall, who played for the Jets from 2015-16, expressed his opinion on who Gang Green should select in the 2021 NFL Draft in a tweet sent directly to Jets co-owner, Woody Johnson on Wednesday.

Johnson never replied to the tweet publicly, though, the responses from fans varied between Fields and former BYU quarterback Zach Wilson — the Jets’ presumed pick on April 29 in Cleveland.

The Jets are in desperate need of a quarterback after trading Sam Darnold to the Panthers earlier this month for three draft picks — a sixth-round pick in 2021 and a second-round and a fourth-round pick in 2022.

Though Marshall said he thinks Fields is a fit for the Jets at No.

2, Richard Sherman — former 49ers cornerback and now a free agent — has made it known that he believes San Fransisco will select Fields with the third pick, if he is on the board.

On Wednesday, Fields participated in his second pro day, in which the Jets, 49ers, Patriots and Panthers all showed up to get a closer look at the 6-foot-3 quarterback

During his first pro day, Fields showed off his athleticism and impressed with a 4.44-second 40-yard-dash

In just two years at Ohio State, Fields led the Buckeyes to a 20-2 record
