Some of the compounds in cannabis may prevent the entry of the coronavirus into healthy human cells, according to a study published in the Journal of Nature Products. .
The study suggests two compounds found in commonly found in hemp -- cannabigerolic and cannabidiolic acid -- prevent coronavirus from entering cells that typically line internal organs and skin in a lab setting.“That means cell entry inhibitors, like the acids from hemp, could be used to prevent SARS-CoV-2 infection and also to shorten infections by preventing virus particles from infecting human cells.
