The most common cause of dementia is Alzheimer’s disease, a brain disorder that slowly destroys memory and thinking skills.

Researchers at University College London say excessive viewing could lead to memory loss and contribute to the development of dementia.

"The GP can do some simple checks to try to find the cause of your symptoms, and they can refer you to a memory clinic or another specialist for further tests if needed."
