'God of Chaos' asteroid to pass by Earth this week - Fox News

The asteroid Apophis, nicknamed the "God of Chaos," will pass by Earth on Friday.

ET traveling at a distance of about 10 million miles away, according to NASA.

The asteroid, which was first discovered in 2004, will make another trip near Earth in April 2029.

Apophis is projected to hurl by Earth while just about 19,000 miles away, according to The Planetary Society.

It's a distance that's around 90% closer to Earth than the moon.

That said, more than 100 asteroids have come closer to the Earth than the Moon in the past year, KSL.com reported Tuesday
