Green snow in Antarctica: Here’s why it’s happening - PennLive

Scientists are beginning to see green snow in Antartica, according to reports.

At least not according to a recent CNN report because it says that green snow is caused by blooming algae.

The report says the algae needs high temperature and wet snow to grow, and it said “unusually high temperatures” were recorded in Antarctica in February and the continent had a “nine-day heatwave” earlier this year.
