Louis County on Monday opened a new drive-thru COVID-19 testing site, in efforts to meet the recent crush of demand for tests from residents who are sick or had a recent exposure.

Adding the new location and its 1,000 weekly tests will increase the health department’s overall testing capacity by 50%.

The site offers PCR saliva tests, and results should be available within 24 to 72 hours.

Those sites offer nasal and saliva tests, also by appointment only, and COVID-19 vaccines, for which appointments are not required.
