Tristan Thompson has officially became an American citizen following his decision to join the Boston Celtics, after moving to the United States in 2009 on a student visa.

The Cavaliers chose Tristan in 2011 and he happened to be apart of the team that broke the 52-year Championship drought in Cleveland in 2016

Prior to his big break, Tristan played for the Texas Longhorns for just a single season of college basketball.
