Yolo County will begin requiring people to wear masks indoors regardless of vaccination status, citing a rapid increase of case rates.

This comes after the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has recommended people wear masks indoors.

"With case rates as high as they are and rising, everybody needs to add an additional layer of protection in the form of a mask when they are indoors," said Yolo County Public Health Officer Dr.

Yolo County COVID numbers are heading in the wrong direction, according to Sisson, thanks in large part to the highly infectious Delta variant which now accounts for 88% of COVID cases in Yolo County.
