The Blackwater community stood in solidarity on Thursday night, with residents lighting candles, fires and lanterns in their driveways to show their support for the family of Nathan Turner.

A GoFundMe campaign was set up on Thursday evening to support Ms Devon and Mr Turner's family, with more than $1300 donated in the first few hours.

Annette Boase, who organised Thursday's candlelight vigil and the GoFundMe campaign, posted in the Just Ask Blackwater Facebook group that residents should light up their driveways at 6pm.

There were pledges from those in Apple Tree Creek, almost 400 kilometres south-east of Blackwater, and Mount Morgan, 150 kilometres east of Blackwater, to light up their driveways for Mr Turner.

Following on from Mr Turner's death, 31 people were tested for COVID-19 in Blackwater on Wednesday, all of whom were negative
