Rust armourer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed given 18-month sentence for Halyna Hutchins killing

Rust movie's armourer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed has been sentenced to 18 months imprisonment following the death of Halyna Hutchins in 2021.

Reed was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter last month following an almost two-week criminal trial which focused on the shooting during the filming of Rust.

Actor Alec Baldwin was holding a prop gun which fired a round of amunition, killing 42-year-old cinematographer Hutchins and injuring Joel Souza.

(Image: GETTY)Rust director Joel Souza, who was also injured during the incident, read a victim impact statement virtually.

Hutchins' agent Craig Mizrahi also read out a victim impact statement to the court during the sentencing and Reed could be seen wiping away tears.
