India administers record 10 crore covid vaccines in 11 days: Govt

India's COVID-19 vaccination coverage crossed 80 crore, with over 77.25 lakh vaccine doses being administered on Saturday, the Union health ministry said.

The ministry, in a statement, said the last 10 crore doses were administered in just 11 days.

"In a landmark achievement, India's COVID-19 vaccination coverage has crossed 80 crore landmark milestone (80,33,75,147) today.

India on Friday administered a record number of over 2.50 crore COVID-19 vaccine doses on the occasion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 71st birthday, which Mansukh Mandaviya described as a golden chapter in world history!

According to various reports, the earlier world record for daily doses was created by China with 2.47 crore vaccines being administered in June.
